Expanding your team is one of the hardest things to do in any business. How do you expand without diluting the vision? How do you find people who fit the existing mold of your project's culture?
These are all tough questions to answer. It's something that I've personally had to deal with over the past 12-18 months as we've onboarded more than a dozen new Team Members to the LeoFinance Project.
One of the hardest things for me to figure out and navigate has been team building. I think it's one of the core issues when it comes to scaling any business or crypto project.
There have been many lessons learned over the year+ of doing this. In this clip, we hear from other founders about their journey in trying to scale their team:

- Of course it's nothing you do lightly, took a lot of conversation
- The crypto space is about "who provides value" - you don't need a dragger or a conflict driver person, you need utmost integrity
- Over a year with the new third partner, an independent developer for the game that eventually became a partner, someone who went above and beyond
- Devs looking for a quick buck are everywhere in web3, you get burn every now and then, many overcharge and underdeliver
- Finding a partner with great work ethic is hard af
- There are more bad actors than good actors
- Projects with bad developers are everywhere Ian:
- Hard af to find good developer: if you tell them you are in crypto or NFTs their wage goes up 10x
- Find people who follow the vision
- Team started small (4 core members). Lots of convo about how the game should be and game mechanics
- Figure everything out before even developing, then the aesthetic came first
- Do not take shortcuts, no bot followers, no bought subs etc
- Slow, steady and organic growth is the biggest point to build a project foundation - true interaction builds rep
- Set a roadmap and set milestones
- As a crypto user and founder, trust is the most important thing
